For our managed hosting services we are searching as of now for a

Linux Systems Engineer (f/m)

As Linux systems engineer at IPHH (in Hamburg, Germany) you will be working among a small, highly skilled team of administrators on client's projects and our internal systems. Together you will plan and implement solutions from single servers to fully redundant cluster setups.

Your position will challenge you with:

• Provisioning of hardware
• Installation of different Linux operating systems, implementation of software components and applications
• Handover to clients
• Supporting setups throughout their life cycle
• Documentation
• Our main focus is Debian Linux and running miscellaneous services on the application layer. For load balancing services we use software based applications such as Nginx as well as appliances such as those by F5 Network.
• You will team up with our team of system administrators
• Working on your own and shared projects alike

Our expecations:

• You have multiple years of operating experience in Linux system administration.
• Most beneficially you have a service provider's background with web hosting, e-mail (e.g. Exim/Postfix), etc.
  Design, implementation and support of HA Linux systems, such as load balancing, distributed databases and replication (e.g. MySQL), SSL offloading, session handling are well known tasks for you
• You are experienced in virtualization technologies like XEN or KVM/Libvirt
• You master shell scripting and languages like Perl or Python to facilitate your daily work load
• You have practical experience with automation tools such as Puppet, Chef or Ansible and you are able to design, roll out and operate these
• We would be pleased if you also have knowledge about storage solutions like those by EMC and NetApp
• You have at least a basic understanding of IP networks
• You would be willing to join your co-workers for rotating on-call duty
• Fluent in spoken & written German and English

IP Network Administrator (f/m)

As an IP Network Administrator you work in a small team of highly qualified
network administrators. You work with our own network- and backbone infrastructure
and especially with customer networks, firewalls, loadbalancers in hardware and software.
Together with our sales team you plan customer solutions and take care of these projects
from planning to including documentation after service handover to the customer.
You communicate with co-workers and customers regularily.

• You are able to work on your own as well as shared projects
• You thrive in an environment that focuses on working with co-workers and customers

Our expectations:

• You have multiple years of detailed experience with IPv4 and IPv6 networks.
• You are familiar working with loadbalancers, firewalls, routers, switches (e.g. Cisco, Juniper,
  Brocade, Extreme Networks).
• You are able to use Linux as a network component with tools like Nginx, Netfilter, scripting
  languages etc.
• We would be pleased if you have worked in the service provider area before.
• You would be willing to join your co-workers for rotating on-call shifts.
• Fluent in spoken and written German and English.
